The problem

The pressure drop across your PRV may be recoverable energy.

Many factories generate steam at a higher pressure than the process actually needs. A pressure reducing valve (PRV) then throttles the steam down before it reaches the process. Pressure control is necessary — but when the drop happens only across a valve, useful energy is usually lost.

A simple example

A boiler may produce steam at 10 bar while the process needs only 2 bar. Today, that pressure drop may be taken across a PRV. Aurvik helps assess whether part of that pressure energy can be recovered as electricity — while still delivering steam to the process at the pressure it requires.
